Encouraged by the public response during its past conferences, MHAS is dedicated to creating awareness on healthy ageing among the Malaysian public of all ages. This charity premier screening is to enable us to organise more Healthy Ageing Workshops and a Medical Camp in 2005.
Among the topics that will be discussed during the conference include Nutrition & Anti-Oxidants; Vision, Hearing and Oral care; Psychological Strategies; Hormones & Ageing; Memory and Ageing; Coping with Sexuality; Musculoskeletal Systems; Polypharmacy & Immunisation and Alternative Medicine. These topics would be discussed by internationally renowned speakers.
A medical camp will also be organised concurrently where participants will get the opportunity to do screening and tests to find out their state of health. MHAS believes that it is crucial for the public to be well informed on matters of health. It would also further increase their enthusiasm and interest in the latest developments of modern medicine.
The Guest of Honour for the Charity Permier, YB Datuk Dr. Chua Soi Lek, the Minister of Health who was also the Patron for this event along with MHAS President Professor Dr Azhar Md Zain were present.
Also present is YM Che Engku Dato Seri Puan Sri Mahirah, MHAS’ Vice President; YBhg. Datin Tina Subramaniam, the organising committee chairperson, and other invited guests and royalty.
